Trailer released for remake of The Town that Dreaded Sundown
The classic Charles B. Pierce 1976 slasher gets a reboot from the fiendish folk who brought us the popular FX series American Horror Story. Jason Blum and Ryan Murphy produce with Alfonso Gomez-Rejon directing the residents of The Town that Dreaded Sundown.
This time around we visit the people of Texarkana, Arkansas 66 years after the original film with the return of the masked torturer, who appears to be picking up where he left off. Cult fans will be happy to see Veronica Cartwright (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, 1978, Alien, 1979 and Flight of the Navigator, 1986) and Edward Hermann (The Lost Boys, 1987) crop up as the town’s elders who voice the terrors of the past, with Addison Tamlin (TV’s Californication) as the killer’s favourite victim.
The Town that Dreaded Sundown premieres at the London Film Festival on 16 October 2014
